I get a feeling that prices are weak....Maybe its just me thinking that. But it seems that there is a surplus of machines and they are down in this area (Chicago/NWI).

It's not like the forum guys to play their cards so close to their chests. Wife and I were going to the Friday & Saturday auctions, but she took ill Thursday afternoon. Would love to know if we missed anything.

Great auction as usual, long 3 days, Friday was 9 AM to 9:45PM. Hammer price on some of the highlights not including commission or taxes.
I didn't write prices down so these figures are from memory and may be off by $100 or two.
$35,000 Berliner JS
$31,000 Berliner string wind
$8,500 American Berliner
$2,400 Victor C
$2,200 E.R. Johnson C
Average Edison Standards and Homes with reproducers were in the $200 to $350 range. Truly nice and original ones were hitting $500.
Seems like complete Triumphs with Cygnet horns were $1100 to $1500
Victor E's, R's, 1's, 2's 3's were under $1000 but many of these machine although complete were not in the best of condition.
Most wood horn Victors III, IV, V range from $1700 to $2400
Most Victor VI's range from $2500 to $3500
Lots of machines, lots of parts and lots of records & cylinders.
This will give you a general idea of how the auction went.

..... AND IT ALL DISAPPEARED!

The magnitude of this auction was difficult to comprehend. One's mind was numbed by the sheer number of items. The sorting, prioritizing items of interest, evaluating condition, determining value, evaluating competition, etc., was exhausting. Had to surrender after the second day. Hail to those who found their treasures on day three.
