My Graphophone BKT

Hi kids,

I recently purchased this BKT from a forum member and brought it home from the Wayne show. Two days later, I proceeded to completely dismantle the mechanism, clean all of the parts, reassemble and "tune" it up. I thought I'd put together a short pictorial presentation (only a small portion of the entire sequence) of the process for posterity, in case anyone would like to do the same.

I'm quite happy with the results of my small expenditure of time and effort.

I ordered a reproduction "Graphophone" decal from Gregg Cline for the bedplate and my pal George Paul was gracious enough to clean the bedplate and replace the poor gold pinstripes with fresh ones.

As purchased, and back at home:

It looks great Fran! :) You have the cleanest motor in the county...

Do you have a "before" photo of the bedplate?

Nice work - -

Thank you Bruce! I have to say I love the mechanical stuff, but George has a talent for making the more visual stuff (the bedplate) "pop"!

If the motor were exposed, all shiny and new looking, I wouldn't have needed his expertise.

Best,
Fran

Fran -

Your BKT really came out nice! Thanks for such a well-presented documentation of the restoration. (If only my work space was that neat! *sigh*)

Regards,
Martin
