SOLD: EDISON MODEL D CONCERT REPRODUCER $500 OBO

Here's a hard-to-find Edison Model D reproducer with an early serial number and the appropriate early stylus bar. The reproducer is in nice shape overall -- with tarnish but no pitting or damage -- and it sounds good, but it will need tweaking if you'd like to use it on an Edison Concert, with which it was originally sold. The reproducer was removed from a long case Home that was pulled from a New Hampshire attic last week. As you can see in the pics, the top of the weight was at some point neatly bent so that it conformed with the curvature of a Home carriage, rather than that of a Concert carriage. According, if you'd like to use reproducer on a Concert machine, you'll need to bend the weight back so that it conforms with the curvature the Concert's overhead carriage.

The Model-D reproducer was introduced around serial number 30,000. The early Model-D reproducer had a stylus bar that was twice the thickness at the point where the screw went through compared to the rest of the bar. The stylus bar on your reproducer is the later type that is the same with throughout its length. I'm attaching pictures showing the early stylus bar and stylus and of the correct angle of the weight.
