It does, but it looks like somebody stripped the decal off the inside of the lid. Still, at that price, I hope somebody grabs it.

I agree with Sean. Also, while the doors are obviously a matched pair in oak, they don't appear to match (or even come close to) the grain on the remainder of the oak cabinet. And presuming the motor has not been swapped (can't see the crank side of the cabinet) this is still a decent deal for a very scarce Victrola model especially in oak. Here is an earlier post on the Forum: http://forum.talkingmachine.info/viewto ... =2&t=22844 with pictures of mine that reflect a completely original example of this model in oak. Note the matching oak grain doors on mine versus this one on CL.

Looks like a later gooseneck has been swapped-in.

Still looks like a decent deal ?

Agreed. After looking closer at the inside picture we can see that the brake assembly is missing also (notice the 4 holes near the turntable).

And the reproducer is a Victrola #2 in gold. The rear tonearm board looks suspiciously like mahogany to me as well but it may simply be an odd looking section of oak. But that one section on the rear board sure looks like a piece of mahogany to me.

This is looking more like someone found a VV-XI table top oak cabinet and motor (hopefully) that was missing some parts and swapped in some parts from other victrolas.

Yep looks swapped. I shared my dilemma last year with one of these tabletop VV-XI in Mahogany for 250.00 on craigslist, got all excited jumped in without even looking it over (well the seller was kinda weird) and then I got it home and full of swapped out cobbled up parts. Now a year later everything is as it should be except the motor is a later version of the original one, I can live with that.

I really like the Oak one! Fellow Collector you have a Oak one that I drool over.

Thanks for your kind comment. For others who are interested in the Forum post with pictures of my table model VV-XI in oak that Victrolacollector is referring to here is the link:

If I would have been patient, I could have afforded to purchase a nice example on e-bay from Firebottles, it sold for around $460.00 from memory back in March.
