Once again my local antique guy has stumbled onto a neat machine. Does anyone out there have an extra knob for the front door?

Congrats on finding a nice Schubert!
There's a thread on the board documenting existing Schuberts and Beethovens. I hope you'll add your info as well.
Did you get any electrically recorded discs with it?

The Schubert came with wooden knobs which have usually not survived. I good replacement would be the knobs from a Baby Console or London model Edison.

No electrically recorded disks unfortunately, the ones that came with it appear to have been picked through more than once. Info has been added to the thread. I have one good knob so I'm halfway there. Going to add this part to the list of things I'm looking for. Good excuse to go to a show/sale/antique store.

It generally looks to be in very nice condition. Does it play properly?

Yes, it sounds pretty good. Better than my A-250.
