Hey guys, My Edison Opera can't seem to maintain a constant speed. The governor seems to not be fluctuating at all. Any ideas? All help greatly appreciated!

Wes:
Was your Opera running well before? Have you removed the top cover to observe what's happening with the governor?
Can you be more specific with the speed issues?
Send me a pm if you'd like and I'll send my contact/cell info.
Bob

Check if the tensioning spring is in place. It is a hard wire that is installed in the flywheel, and it should act as a spring to tension the wheel and keep the speed steady.

Yes, The wire is in place. It appears to be bent through the shaft of the flywheel and slightly through the hole in the outside of the flywheel. Wes

Is this wire supposed to go through the shaft and connect to the flywheel on one side or both?

Through the shaft and connected to both sides.

That's what it appeared to be but I wasn't sure. Bob, what was the diameter of the wire I will need to replace it again?
