Record cabinet...what goes here?

Record cabinet for sale locally and not sure what goes inside. Was this originally the "tabbed" record dividers that slips in there somehow, or is this not a record cabinet at all? Thanks!

From the dust pattern, it looks like it had vertical slats for the records...

Agreed, vertical slats, probably cut at an angle like the sides of each compartment.

Tony, The opening mechanism appears to be a Herzog cabinet and it would have record slates.
If this is a reasonable price you should buy it now.

Thanks for the replies - I'll go take a look at it. I'm sure the dividers won't be hard to make.

Four of the original record slats are still in the cabinet. Look at the left and right sides of both shelves. All of the slats will look like these that are left.

Good eyes... the top of the doors are typical Herzog, as well...

This has been on the local craigslist about a month now. It's not that it's not worth the asking price, but personally I didn't need another project. It also has veneer issues on the right top front door, but still a worthy project. Just my opinion.

I wonder if a simple regluing will be enough, I didn't notice the door issue. Was hoping for a decent cabinet to also serve as a stand for an oak VV-VI I have
