I am in search of the auto-stop control and rod for the Amberola 1A. I understand that this was used as well on some other models of the finer Amberola uprights as well.

Any help will be much appreciated.

The auto-stop on the Amberola 1A is unique to that model. The 1B shared its mechanism (and auto-stop) with the Amberola III, Opera, and the School.

Thanks George! Weren't all versions of the Amberola 1A, as it pertains to this part, the same however?

Let's make sure we are talking about the same thing.

Do you seek a short stubby rod with a flat plate at the end, which emerges from the left hand cover and is secured by a knob protruding from the front of that cover? That's for a 1A, and is unique to that machine.

Or do you seek a longer, thin rod, bent at one end as a pointer, and attached at the other end to a bar which travels in a machined slot and fixed in place after adjustment by a knob? That's for a 1B, but also a III and an Opera, and a School. These are easier to lose, and have been reproduced at times. They have the oxidized bronze (aka copper flash, mottled copper, tiger stripe copper, etc etc) finish.

Google around for pix of each machine's mechanisms, and you will see the difference.

Yes, all known versions of the 1A used the same design for the auto-stop.
