Another Victor Mahogany V

Well, I never thought I would end up owning two Victor mahogany V's. This one is only 973 units higher to my other one. It comes from the original family and with a 22" Victor flower horn. In a 1917 Victor pamphlet, it states it should have a 24" flower horn as well as other horn options (pic courtesy of George P).
This is the fifth one of this type I know of now.
As much as I would like to keep both.....the Wife is drawing the line about keeping two. So, one is going to have to go..

.
Personally, I think they make great bookends...

This isn't listed in the Yankee Trader Section following the guidelines but I'm assuming that it is for sale. If that is correct what is the asking price?

This is not a "for sale" thread. Just showing a new machine I just pick up for my collection. If I decide to sell my other one....I would place it in the YT section or on line...

. I would prefer to keep both...

I'm sorry that I misunderstood your post. When I read "As much as I would like to keep both.....the Wife is drawing the line about keeping two. So, one is going to have to go" I thought that you were saying that you were selling it.

I understand and I'm sorry for creating the misunderstanding. Since I just picked this up yesterday, I told my Wife "I have just begun to fight"....

. She may win
if I can't find a spot to put both. These machine take up a lot of real estate....that's for sure..

.
A question to the membership.....should I keep the 22" flower horn (incorrect) on it or use my spare 24" all brass flower horn that is currently sitting on the floor in a pile...??. This would also be considered incorrect, based on the horn options listed in the pamphlet.
The labels are nice on this example too.
Thoughts please..

"He" is not selling it, "she" is...

Congratulations to another beautiful and rare machine. I would use the 24" all brass flower horn, because even though not an official option one could still imagine an original owner to purchase it as an upgrade to this machine. It is hard to imagine that someone would "downgrade" their machine with a 22" horn. Besides, a polished brass flower horn simply looks stunning on a mahogany machine.

Where do you find such beautiful machines? I'm constantly searching auction sites,CL, every now and then I find a leg, lid, part of a motor?

Who doesn't want to know? However, wouldn't that be revealing the source of the goose that laid the golden egg?

Personally, I've largely gave up on craigslist and other sites a few years ago. Even when I found an incredible piece, I had several situations where collectors would "helpfully" offer far more than the asking price - or post it to the "eBay and Craigslist Alert" section of the forum.

Thank you all who commented and or PM'ed me on my new find. I will fight hard with the Wife on this one...as I'm sure any of us would do. My argument now is....I need it in order to display horns that normally sit on the floor....it sounds good to me..

. Right now, I'm just getting the look.
If only this machine was smaller....I would have pretended it has always been here...

.
The funny part of this is......about two years ago, I was offered another just like this. A dealer found it and sent me pics asking if I was interested. He went back to buy it for me and it was gone..

. So, it's all just a matter of luck.
At least I have a pic of that machines data plate and I have counted it as part of the five I know of...even if I never physically saw it.
An update and thanks to a forum member, we now know of a sixth mahogany V. It also came with a 22" flower horn and is believe to have come from the original family. So, maybe the 22" flower was also available for this model..??.
I made a short (not very good) video of this machine playing. It sounds OK considering I haven't cleaned it up yet.
Hope you enjoy it...

I have been asked if I could post pics of the two side by side. As you can see, one is Sun faded lighter. They take up so much space...I need a bigger camera...
