I just found out from Radio0Antiks that the Edison reproducer from a Bush & Lane Duo-Vox phonograph will mount directly on to a Victrola tonearm, allowing play of Edison records!

Interesting, but I would question the wisdom of having the stylus perpendicular to the groove. IIRC, the stylus on a DD reproducer is not round, it's a bit oblong. I would doubt that the stylus on this reproducer is round either. You may be damaging the grooves doing this.

I have the Vicsonia and unmarked version(probably Bush & Lane) and play Edison records on my Victor V. They are very loud and clear. I would only do this occasionally. Edison records are hill & dale and use a feed screw to propel the reproducer. Using a Victor set up, there could be accelerated wear on the Edison DD records. Also, I would not play Pathé or similar records using this set up.

I was worried that it wouldn't work at a 90 degree angle so I never attempted to use it this way, but RadioOAntiks said the B&L Edison diamond is symmetric and will work at a 90 degree angle to the record surface without any modification. After playing several Edison records without observing any signs of abnormal wear, I am inclined to believe him.
