So here's the story. I had to work today and decided to stop by after, in case the Amberola 75 posted below hadn't sold. When I arrived at the address in Maplewood NJ, I was told it had sold. 3 men from the Edison museum showed up with gloves to purchase this item for $400. I'm wishing I took off from work now to see this in person. Thoughts? :coffee:

I did find an Exhibition knock off reproducer. Exposition made in Germany reproducer for $10!(also says "London,Berlin,Paris" on it) Needs rebuilding of course.

Wrong grill, fairly rough bedplate paint, most likely over-coated or refinished cabinet. Seems like an odd choice for a museum to want a fairly poor example of a very common machine.

and white gloves, hahaha. Institutions are funny.

You didn't miss much Rich, other than the story he told about the 75, there wasn't anything else but the reproducer I found.

That story is most likely a crock. Even if it isn't, it wasn't much of a buy. I would have let it sit even if were $200.

I can tell you that I had someone from the Edison Museum in NJ show up at my house, in MI, to pick up a phonograph and he didn't use any gloves. Now I'm kind of insulted ;O)
