What most people refer to as the Auxetophone was originally advertised in the UK as the Auxeto Gramophone.

Despite this elaborate publicity stunt by Percival's Pure Drug Company, sales of all versions in the UK totalled less than 200.

As a drug store it is entirely possible that they sold false teeth. They also sold bicycles, as many UK gramophone retailers did in the early days.

Some of the posters are advertising a fete, a suitable occasion for demonstrating the Auxeto.
