There is cute little "historical" aside to this one. The folks at Victor did not allow one particular word from the original lyrics to be heard on this wonderful comic parody by Murray. Toward the end you will hear Murray sing the phrase "with Pianos Make you a wreck", here they had Murray substitute Pianos for Phonographs. Victor could not possibly have allowed in 1907 any kind of a "Plug" for Edison's phonograph to be heard on one their Disc records, hopefully being played on one of their Talking machines. Enjoy!!

That's an interesting observation on the word "phonograph."
In a similar vein, we should note that Victor was the only label to issue "They start the Victrola," also recorded by Billy Murray.

I have that tune on (of all things) a piano roll. I once had sheet music for a somewhat similar piece "Sister Susan" issued by the Engelhardt player piano co. The girl of the title was so busy playing piano for dances that she was unable to find a boyfriend -BUT- she buys a player piano and has her little brother pump it "And she'll never be a sad old maid"EdisonSquirrel wrote:
