In my town I saw an oak Brunswick phonograph. It's a model 117,to be exact. It's at the antique center in my town.I know the owner and I talked to him about it,also his son.I told them that I have a console, also a Brunswick, that I'd like to put toward the 117 that's in the back room of the shop.My console is in playing condition but either the spring is broken or unhooked on the upright.I fell in love with the Brunswick the first time I saw it.There are 5 record bins in the cabinet, and I can store from 15-20 78's in each bid.It would help lessen the record stacks on my living room floor considerably!PS,I always wanted an oak floor model.edisonplayer

I live in Owego,NY.I talked to the antique center's owners son.He told me they'll start work on the Brunswick the end of this week! :D Brunswick made an excellent machine. My late friend Jerry Donnell said of Brunswick phonographs,"I've never seen a sorry one".I'll have the new one by early next month.edisonplayer PS;I'm pulling out some good artists for it.They'll be several Brunswicks by Margaret Young.I LOVE her records! She appeared in vaudeville in the 1920's,and was the aunt of vocalist Margaret Whiting.Miss whiting had a radio show in the '40's.One time she brought back Miss Young.

I checked out the machine yesterday along with an older man who works at the antique center. We found that there wasn't a broken spring like we thought. He oiled the motor and wound it up.We had it playing, then I heard a loud clacking noise.I told the man,"It sounds like a governor issue. One of the governor springs sounds like its loose."I don't know how much the owner of the antique center paid for the Brunswick in the first place.Early next month I was thinking of offering him $200 for it and selling the Brunswick console I have(which is in working order)to him.edisonplayer
