Hello all,
I just wanted to say how much I am enjoying the September issue of the A.P.M. Especially the article on Columbia Graphophone Decals by George Paul. I don't have a lot of Columbia cylinder machines in my collection ( I have eleven). With the article in one hand and my flash light in the other I closely examined the decals on all my machines. I was surprised to find that I had eight different variations. I have tags on all my machines listing the models and approximate dates of manufacture. With the help of the article I was able to pin down the dates a lot closer.
all the best
Pete

I'm glad that you're enjoying the article, Pete! :)

As I worked on the article, I was surprised to discover so many variations of cylinder Graphophone decals; eventually totaling sixteen. I'd certainly be interested in learning of more. My thanks to Chuck Azzalina and those who responded to his "Grand" questionnaire, for teaching me that the first GGs carried a Type 4 decal! :)

One thing I need to point out... The magazine is named The Antique Phonograph, which is the quarterly journal published by the Antique Phonograph Society. (It could be called TAP, but not the APM. The Antique Phonograph Monthly [APM] was a collector publication that ran from 1972-1994.) :)
