Not sure what to make of this...

Probably a double exposure.

......and it's not even Halloween yet

That's not at all creepy. I have had numerous experiences such as this or even more vivid. The problem with many cultures is that the observance of anything that is not within the scope of that cultures "normality" is considered either impossible or evil.

There is an entire world far beyond the human visible realm but that information has been kept secret by forces that wish us to be ignorant of that realm. Having taught metaphysics for appx. 40 years and assisted by a wife with a PhD in such, we have discovered realms that much of mankind is not comfortable with nevertheless are still present. There is, however, a very large group of us out there and growing daily.

These machines and vintage records tap into a time in history when there was much stifling and suffering among the poorer masses and these musical recordings brought a lot of comfort into their homes and concert/opera halls. Imagine being able to hear Ada Jones or Billy Murray right in your own home town for a nickel!! We that have probably 25 Ada Jones cylinders in our collections simply take it for granted but back then this was a tremendously exciting time. My Granddad was one of the first in his town to buy a Victrola and when friends came and listened to it they could not understand how such a small box brought such beautiful choirs and orchestras right into their midst. For many simple country folks this was delightful! That is why I like these old tunes and these incredible machines.

In another realm look at many of the old time movie theatres, such as the Fox and the Roxy with their ornateness and beauty. They too were designed to make anyone entering to feel inspired and like they were a part of a far greater thing.

Accompanying these machines is an energy and excitement from people of days past. For many people such a phenomena is hard to understand but to us it enhances the joy of collecting these gems. dave

The subjects (except for the moustached guy on the right) all moved their heads during the exposure. Typical movement blur in a long exposure time. Notice that nothing else in the photo is blurred except the heads, although in truth none of it is very sharp to begin with. They are "ghost" images, but no real ghosts are involved.

I hope that all of you realize that this was just my idea of a joke... The era of this picture was one where subjects had to sit completely still for a relatively long period of time while the camera and film captured the image. So, as was mentioned, the blurred images are people who moved... sorry, I have a weird sense of humor.

Yeah, but the ghost next to the man with the broad-brimmed hat moved too! Fairly creepy.....

Low light, long exposure, no flash.... the 'ghost' may be the photographer, who opened the shutter, snuck into the shot, then went back to close it.

The machine looks like a Columbia BD or BJ.

Not all creepy. We must realize that what we experience in a daily life is only a fraction of the many dimensions. The early listeners to the phonograph even though it was deceit, trickery and devilish. What about Tesla and electromagnetic waves and even the internet we use today. It is all energy, we are energy, and basically atoms and molecules, etc. So is it possible for a deceased person to transfer their energies to a photograph etc., Is it possible? Is it probable? I would say that anything is really possible.

As for this photograph, it could be double exposure or anything for that matter. I do know that early photographs were taken while the subject had to sit still without moving for a long period of time so that the image could expose onto the plate. These early Daguerreotype are prone to this effect.

Again, we have to keep somewhat of an open mind when looking at these things.
