Visiting Glenmont Advice Needed

I am planning a trip to the Wayne Show, first time ever. For me, the highlight will be a chance to visit the Edison National Historic Site and Glenmont. If you have been there, do you have any tips to share? I am anxious to see the original phonograph and a copy of the newspaper Edison printed as a boy. We have printer's type from the basement of his boyhood home here at the museum in Port Huron. I understand that the first one he printed is on the wall in his den at Glenmont. Can anyone confirm that for me?
Thanks!
Dave

We are looking forward to the Wayne Show this coming weekend. It is always a great show and we thank Michael Devecka for putting the show together. It seems to get better each year. We will be bringing Nippers, phonographs and collectibles for sale and hope to find some treasures.

Dave, you will love the show and the great bunch of people that attend. Be sure to get to the Saturday morning parking lot at the PAL center.

We plan to visit the Thomas Edison National Historical Park, Glenmont and also Menlo Park with friends attending the show. The TENHP is a remarkable adventure with outstanding displays and an incredible staff of park rangers to answer questions. For those who appreciate the incredible work and genius of Edison, seeing and experiencing first hand the artifacts of his laboratory and library is an enlightening, inspiring, and humbling experience.

The laboratory is open Wednesday through Sunday, 10:00 am-4 pm.
Glenmont is open on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Be sure to get your house tour tickets in the morning as they are distributed on a first come basis from the Laboratory Visitor Center.

Looking forward to seeing you and everyone at the show!

Do you know if National Park passes are accepted? Otherwise, what is the admission fee?

YES - The Senior National Parks Pass is good for free admission, for you and up to 3 guests, and grants access to the Edison site as well as Glenmont. If I am not mistaken, the general admission is only $7 - but I could be wrong on that.

Extra for the Audio Cassette Self Guided tour.

Well, Jerry, life altering is a bit dramatic, but it was very cool to see the factory and the mansion. If you have never been there, I suggest you do it. The machine shop is right up your alley and seeing his office was awe inspiring!

I had free admission as a guest of some folks waiting in line who had the Senior passes. What a nice surprise that was.
