Wanted: Glass Diaphragm

I am working on two Pathé machines and both need glass diaphragms

I have located a 43 mm diaphragm from Norman Bruderhofer but he does not have a 40 mm (1 9/16) diaphragm.

Does anyone have one or know of who I can contact to locate a replacement?

Thank you

Bruce

Alain Floch (eBay seller 'chataigneraie72') from France offers quite a variety of glass diaphragm diameters, ranging from 32.5 mm to 64.5 mm. Alain recommends the 38 mm diameter ones for the smaller Pathé reproducers and 43.7 mm for the larger Pathé reproducers (and 53.1 mm for the Pathé Rex). He also offers various other Pathé accessories for cylinder players: sapphires mounted on domes, floating reproducers in nice replica boxes (red or green), glass diaphragms, rubber gaskets... You can reach him by email at 'lescentrifuges(at sign)gmail(dot)com'

Another option would be to find some "round microscope cover glass" of the proper diameter. This is apparently what Edison used for his early reproducers.

I have received my new glass diaphragms and a sapphire from Alain Floch with great results. Exactly what I needed and I bought some extra in various sizes for future use.

thanks again for the reference

This is good to know as these sizes would work to build a comparable gramophone acoustical recorder.
