Help! Removing Victor Outside Horn Tone Arm Insert?

All,

An instrument repairman is helping me roll out a dent in the back of an outside horn Victor tone arm, in the hopes that it can be used again. It's a tricky job, and he asked me if anyone here knows if the insert highlighted in purple in the image below can be removed to better roll out the dent, and then replaced once the dent has been sorted out. Does anyone know?

Thanks!

The insert is soldered on. It will have to be un-soldered. Then the dent can be removed, and the insert re-soldered. Be sure to bring the bracket so the arm will fit.

Harvey,

Thank you for the response.

Is this tone arm insert hard to replace properly once it is un-soldered? I'm thinking of the collars on Edison Diamond Disc horns for some reason.

Best,

It's a matter of the repairman aligning the insert and soldering it back. Make sure you have a picture handy so it will be installed properly.
