Edison Standard Motor Bolt Removal

I have acquired some rubber washers to use on the motorboard for my recently acquired Edison Standard A (banner decal on case).

I have tried to remove the motor bolts but they spin with the washer attached. It looks like they were secured with a round disc washer??

How do you remove these?

Not completely sure what you're describing, but I think what's happening is that the old, melted, dried up rubber has "glued" the washers to the screws you're trying to remove. Hold the washers with a plier and try to break the screws loose.

Put some penetrant on them. I use a pair of needle nose vise grips to hold them while I turn the screws. Some can be tough to get out. You just have to hold onto the round nuts while you unscrew the bolts.

Thanks to the forum members which responded with help. The penetrating oil helped. I had to cut some notch with a dremel into the round nuts to get a grip on them. I managed to unscrew them. I cleaned the old gaskets out and installed nice new isolator rubber washers from the local Ace Hardware. My machine now runs quieter.

Glad you got it done. They can be a battle to remove.
