Hi Does anyone know how the steel brackets in the record storage compartment of a Sonora Grand Upright Phonograph are meant to be connected? The brackets (around 2 ½ inches high X 1 inch wide)are on a keyway which fit over the heads of screws on each side of the cabinet. There are 2 holes in the centre divider and the other dividers are cut back to allow clearance.
Thanks Brett

Hi Brett,
I hope this photo is what you want. The other four corners are similar.

hi bob
thanks for your post. that is the exact bracket that i have. does this assembly tilt forward? with my phono it appears the rods would pass through the center partition. the in between partitions are cut back so the rods would pass in front of them. also how are the rods connected at the back of the brackets? i appreciate your help brett

Hi Brett,
Please refer to the captions of the pictures below. The upper and lower record storage assemblies each have four metal rods (eight total) which pass through the holes and slots cut into one corner of each paper sleeve. Each rod is supported by a metal bracket on one end, and the center wooden divider on the other. Only the individual paper sleeves tilt out, not the entire assemblies.
Hope this clears thing up,
Bob

hi bob
the information you have given is exactly what i was after. i appreciate you efforts. also are the rods solid and are they brass? i take it that the top hole in the record sleeve is an arched slot to allow the sleeve to rotate out. finally what diameter are the rods? sorry about all the questions. thanks brett
