Interesting Facts: This phonograph was the subject of a recent post and I was requested by several members at that time to post it as a Featured Phono when I finished the restoration work on it. The grille had some damage and was missing some of the finished section on the front. I repaired the grille and stained and painted it to match the original section of the grille. I rewired the light under the lid which is activated by lifting the lid. The lid hinge was broken and has been replaced by an exact hinge off of another upright phonograph. The original finished was cleaned and had some very minor touch-up in several places. The Fletcher reproducer and tone arm is found on several different generic phonographs. It has an adjustable round weight in the back of the tone arm for either Victor/Columbia, Pathé, or Edison records. From what I have seen in period advertising, this is one of 9 Art Model phonograph that the Lauzon Furniture Company made under the Michigan Phonograph Co. name. The Krasco motor is also found in other "generic" phonographs from this time period. All of the images on the phonograph were painted on under the finish coat, there is no inlay of any kind.

Let me pile onto the already positive responses: Wonderful, Bill!

I agree with George, anyone that dismisses the "lesser" manufacturers should take a lesson from this beautiful example of artistic license.

Just, wow. :o

Best,
Fran
