Would a late "L" door have boxes or albums? Thanks, Jerry

I think the VTLA boxes were used-up during the suffix C run, D & later had Red linen-bound binders.

My L-door is 1909 production, originally sold in 1910, and is C stamped over B suffix, and has VTLA boxes, pat. date 1908.

My model C, which came from the original owner's family, came with albums (gold with metal pull ring, 16 pages per album) which I think are likely original to the machine.

As I recall, your machine and mine have close serial numbers. I thought I'd offer some pics of the interiors of the VTLA boxes included in the early L-Door Victor machines. VIctor was the king of cross-over parts.

To further corroborate, my L-door is #19362, suffix C, re-struck over-top the "B". (no frieze)

Mine has the VTLA-style boxes, as Torjazzer pictured.


My machine bears a license-label date from 1909, and the original bill of sale is from John Wanamaker, Philadelphia, dated February, 1910. "Victrola and Records"
