Victor O elbows and horns

I have a nice Victor O, however the horn is not so nice. So I bought a new horn and elbow this year at Stanton's but to my dismay, nothing is even close to going together.

Can someone explain why the variation with the horn size. The newer better horn looks like it would better fit a Victor 1. Does anyone want to trade a smaller good condition horn for the larger good condition horn that I just bought?

Thanks in advance.

The horn and elbow on the left is an early one. The one on the right is a later one. The horn on the left has a smaller neck that fits into the small elbow. The horn on the right has a larger neck that fits into the larger elbow.

The variation came about because the Victor O, and most other models, were offered over many years and went through minor changes. Let me say that you are far from the first to be fooled by Victor O horns and elbows and you won't be the last. Jerry Blais
