Sincere Thanks !

There isn't a section for thanking people on the forum so as it relates to a machine repair I though I'd do it here.. The secondary drive gear split on my Columbia AA a few weeks ago ad as I am in England spare parts are very hard to find. I posted a wanted ad here and within days was offered a gear on a shaft from a B, an AA parts motor and a complete AA motor ! I bought the B shaft only to find the diameter off the shaft was bigger than the one in the AA so the gear was too big ! I mentioned it to the seller just as an observation about different sizes in similar motors and he immediately offered me half the money back! He didn't have to do this as we both assumed it would fit so at the risk of embarrassing him I would like to say here what a true gentleman and credit to the hobby David Boruff is.
I then bought the parts motor from Jerry Blais and am pleased to say the AA is back in working order again so thanks to Jerry as well !
It is good to know there are so many helpful and kind collectors in this hobby - it makes it all worthwhile !
Andrew

Thanks for the kind words. I'd like to say that it is not so very difficult to mail things out of the country so don't shy away from overseas mailings. It was easy but perhaps a little expensive. Jerry Blais

David Boruff and Jerry B. are great! I have dealt with both in the past and both are pleasant to deal with and very honest. It is great to have these great people in the hobby as well as so many others. I am so thankful for this forum and all of the great people on here.

That is one of the first things you appreciate on "The Forum", the amount of Really Good and so Knowledgeable people---people helping with both parts and knowledge, an effortless devotion to the hobby and the collectors preserving the beginning of recorded sound.

I agree. You won't find nicer folks anywhere. Both David and Jerry have helped me out with parts and advice.

I really wanted an edison h reproducer for 4m cylinders so posted an ad here. Within the hour, or so it seemed to me, David offered me one, which I bought. It turned up quickly, still works great and wasn't highly priced, and I, too am in the uk. Great service!
