Since the motor is marked No. 4 and is a disc machine motor, it may be from a No. 4 Pathé disc machine...

The motor in the photo is utilized in several Diamond machines. Diamond was a brand that Pathé created in the 20s to commercialize lower priced machines. The Pathé nr 4 in the photo is a much earlier machine from around 1910 and uses a different motor, with the lever to start and break the motor - the lever is apparent in the front.

Hi all,
Just to confirm what Carlos said: this motor was used on late and cheaper Diamond machines and also, most probably, on off-brand machines. Nevertheless, these motors work pretty well.

I have this motor on a Pathé portable
"Since the motor is marked No. 4 and......."
The French 1 does deceptively look like a 4 :-)

Pathé 4 has a rachet starter help thus the motor in the 4 is a bit different with a cast iron frame.
