Hi this Victrola is for sale locally for $200 no records or $350 with 200 records. Does it look like American Walnut to you guys? Going to take a look at it in person soon.

It's oak.

And, from the carvings on the cabinet, looks more like a VV-XI than a XIV.

It's a VV XI in Golden Oak, not walnut. Still a nice machine but the prices with and without records is steep.

Oak for sure, should clean up nicely. There was a short-lived in-between version of the VV-XIV, from 1912-1914 according to the Victor-Victrola site, and their photo looks like this one here. The serial number plate should indicate which this one is, assuming it's the original one. Could also be a variant of the VV-XI that I've never seen too.

Isn't this an early version, with crank mounted forward on the side, more ornate front legs, high-domed lid, and the horizontal ribbing on the side ? Also appears to have the early style "thick" cabinet knobs.
Don't know if any of this increases the value...
The XIV usually has two locks: one for the record storage, and one for the lid.

This is not an XI, but a very nice early XIV in oak, and at a very cheap price.

I'm pretty sure it's an earlier, maybe 2nd style XIV. With a little kotton klenser or something similar it would certainly be living room quality if it looks as good inside. I think the price is reasonable for oak in that condition.

I vote for something other than a XI. That decorative molding around the upper cabinet (about 3" below the lid) was not a feature on any version of the XI that I've seen, either in person or in picture.

If there is a picture of the data plate and what's under the lid, will solve the mystery.
