What is this? - Columbia Studio Cylinder Recorder?

I recently acquired this cylinder recorder, but do not know the manufacturer or the type of device that it would fit. The recorder looks professionally made and the top weight reminds me of the Edison-type studio recorder. The shape of the recorder and stylus bar somewhat resembles Columbia. The nipple at the end does fit a standard size horn. The recorder itself is made of aluminum.

Has anyone seen one of these before or know who made it and what device it belongs to? Any insight would be appreciated.

Please see the photos for details.

Thanks

Scott

I second it is a Dictaphone recorder/reproducer.
