I just saw this film classic on TCM. Who knows what film noir classic features a man making cylinders all through it? He is recording his own voice in an office. See if you can answer it. Extra credit if you know whether it is an Ediphone or a Dictaphone.
I was going to put the answer on the next post, but I will wait to see if any of you classic movie buffs can answer this.

I saw the dad in my 3 sons and who also was a "singer" in the late 20's kill Barbara Stanwick's old man in "Double Indemnity" while talking into a Dictaphone I believe.
Now do you know what jukebox is playing while the doorbell gets pushed two times as Miss Turner and friend try to murder her ol' man?

Fred MacMurray was a singer in the late 1920's? I think I've seen that name before on cylinders, but must be another Fred MacMurray. Does anyone know if they used an Ediphone or a Dictaphone in Double Indemnity (1944)?

He also played saxophone.
He was fairly old when he played in "my Three Sons" and the Flubber movies.
Was also one of the thriftiest guys in Hollywood.
