Hi. I was at an antique store today and they were selling a mahogany VV-VI for $375. I talked them down to $325 but I'm still not sure if I should buy it. It is in good working condition and they said they would give me a 1 year warranty and 5 records with it. The Condition of the case was also very good with only a few scratches. What to you think?

I think you can do better. I don't know about mahogany but the oak cased versions are very very common and can be had in the $200 and under range. For $375 I could get a much higher quality machine, of course availability where you live may vary. Still I think you should pass on that one or make a counter offer.

I think you can do better, too. I bought one today for $60 and it is in good working condition, now. The repairs took me 30 minutes (needed a governor weight). They are plain looking but durable and sound alot better than composition horn suitcase models that are often overpriced at around $300. If you like it and can spare the money I say "why not". It should hold it's value and mahogany is not as common as oak...
