It's Time to Join (or re-join) the Antique Phonograph Society!
Recent web site enhancements are in place and just waiting for you to discover them - - including over 15,000 pages of
searchable documents and book features not available to the general public. More additions (including a book feature on Sonora and another book feature on Aeolian-Vocalion (both by R.J. Wakeman) are in the pipeline. Also, original catalogs, articles, and other period documentation.
Plus, the highly acclaimed quarterly journal,
The Antique Phonograph, which contains 52 pages of full-color articles as well as advertising and announcements of upcoming auctions, shows, etc.
If you haven't yet become a member of the APS, you don't know what you're missing. If you're currently a member, you don't want to miss out on all the additional benefits for 2017.
You can find out more and join in about 2 minutes by clicking the link below:

Best wishes to everyone for a happy and healthy 2017!

Thanks for the reminder George and the easy link. I didn't even have to dig out any info or papers.
Just got it done, quick and easy.

George,
The site looks great and I'm all up to date, but can you give a primer on how to find and search the 15,000 pages of articles?
Thanks
Dan

Dan,
To access the huge archive, just go to "Articles," and click on the "Advanced" category. At the top of that page, you'll see a subtitle: "Search For Articles!" Below that is a box that says, "Enter search phrase here." Do that, and click the "Search for Results" box immediately to the right of it. Every page of each document in the archive will be searched and a list of results will appear. All you need to do is click on each item in the list and you will be able to read it.
As of now, there is no "browse" feature for those of us who might like to just wander through a publication to explore whatever we might find. Our web masters are working on that now, so expect to see that option appear in the near future. I'm personally looking forward to that!
Thanks to all who have already re-upped and joined for 2017!

PS: Rod beat me to it... Oh well - I'll leave my response too.

I am impressed! I just tried the search option and was pleasantly surprised to peruse early issues of New Amberola Graphic, In The Groove, Talking Machine Review and more! I have hundreds of these in hard copy form in my personal collection but it's so much easier to access these like this. Just before I joined the Antique Phonograph Society I purchased the entire run (what was available) of back issues of The Sound Box / The Antique Phonograph. This is an amazing amount of information. The download time is acceptable too. I only wish that there was a way to highlight your matching search text within the downloaded reference document but it's fun to read other stuff along the way! Thank you!

Doug,
Assuming you are using the traditional Adobe Acrobat reader for PDF files, you can "right-click" anywhere on the document which will bring up the Tool Box, then choose the Find Function (or CNTL +F) and enter your original Search phrase. In a future release we plan other enhancements with perhaps a "preview" box for selected documents.

I just renewed as well. I do have a question, by using a different address on the join/renewal form, will that update my mailing address for the publication? I recently moved and the post office won't forward "magazines" for some reason.
