STILL FIXING ORTHOPHONIC SOUNDBOXES WITH QUICK TURNAROUND

Sometimes, I need to advertise for myself.

ALL REPAIRS PERFORMED: Bearings, needle bars, alignments, diaphragms, and I assess and work on pot metal soundboxes as well, as long as they can be coaxed to come apart for repair. Most importantly, I remove the old petrified rubber mounting flange (which surrounds the brass mounting sleeve), and install my own hand made butyl rubber and silicone flanges, which offer superior clarity and natural tone WITHOUT HARSH LOUD DISTORTIONS. Using medium-soft material makes it what it was designed to be, a vibration damper and insulator.

Rock hard mounting flanges do not allow the soundbox to track the groove properly....the result is high harsh tones, distortion, and unnaturally high volume. Add to this accelerated record wear.

And yes, I can redo and repair loose bearings on Brunswick Panatrope reproducers without having to reinvent the wheel.

I'M NOT INEXPENSIVE. But would you rather put your child in a brown paper bag, or a proper baby stroller? Wait....should I have asked that to this crowd? You can spend $$$ elsewhere, but you can't buy better.

I repair all disc and cylinder type reproducers, and even difficult or Thought-IMPOSSIBLE repairs. Try me!

No insult intended - it just came to mind!

How about Edison cylinder recorders? Do you work
on those? How about the ones which are missing the
stylus holder? Do you make and install those?

Thanks, Chuck

Here's an odd repair need: My best Ortho soundbox is from a late 2-65 portable; it sounds better than either 'brass' soundboxes which came with 2 of my Credenzas. HOWEVER - I've used it so much and for so long that the threads in the needle-chuck will no longer hold a screw. Can that be re-threaded a little larger & a slightly larger screw be used? Or some other solution? It cannot be used now, and that is a pity.

I sent my early brass Orthophonic reproducer to Wyatt for a rebuild and just got it back. Wow! It sounds amazing.

First off Wyatt was there immediately to answer all of my questions. He was patient and generous with his time and information. I live in Las Vegas and lets just say I'm not use to this level of time and attention. No 30 second hard sell TV spots here. Just good old fashion service.

Wyatt was lighting fast doing the repair. I was trying to do a few repairs to my Credenza cabinet and even with shipping, servce and return shipping and a delay because of MLK Day with delivery. He still managed to get it back to me before I had time to get my work done. Now I'm listening to the Credenza with and unfinished cabinet but incredible sound.

Yes! This is a plug for Wyatt aka Miccamonster. Based on my experience. He's honest, comunicative, provides excellent service and is fast. All characteristics that are highly lacking in todays world.

The Monster did up a couple Orthophonics for me. Let's just say it was one of the worst experiences of my life, because now all my other soundboxes sound like crap! I see what you did there, Wyatt... you gave me "THE HOOK"!!!

Wyatt's the man. In fact, I'm going to start calling him "Eldridge".
