I removed the motor from the Columbia Favorite I recently acquired and turned the case over to replace the worn rubber bumpers. I was pleasantly surprised to discover a nice set of labels. It looks like the machine was made in Canada. It is interesting to see that the selling price in Canada ($73) was a heck of a lot more than the U.S. price ($55).

I've never seen such intact license labels on Columbia Machines, especially table models - when the rubber tack-bumpers disintegrate, then the flat bottom scrubs along whatever the machine is placed on, and the label gets damaged.

What is interesting is that our Canadian dollar is hovering at around 75 cents against the U.S. buck. If I went to the bank to buy $55 in U.S. cash with the banks commission added on it would cost about 32% or $73 dollars! Seems nothing has changed!!!
