I just bought a nice 2nd record cabinet. The type that would have held a large table top victrola, to make it look like a floor standing model.

Good work, there Paul. I've been seeing fewer and fewer every year. I still regret missing out on a great Pooley cabinet right in your neck of the woods (at Antique Station), this was the one that has the push-button ejector on a sliding wooden selector bar. It was a case of no room and no money at the time.

That's great Paul! Record cabinets are a sign of a maturing and dignified collection, IMHO. The Rolfs had an interesting cylinder cabinet in Orlando. It was rather unremarkable in style, but it's method of securing the cylinder boxes to the slide-out panels was brutal. Designed for 2M molded wax cylinder storage, the box bottoms were twisted onto two long triangular opposing barbs stamped out of a circular sheet metal plate secured to the panels by screws. One literally screwed the box onto the plate, the barbs piercing the bottom lid in about a sixth of a turn. OUCH! Held them fast, though, I will say that! I never expected to see a cabinet that used the bloody Spanish Inquisition method (wink)! John M

Kirk: Do you recall what size the Pooley Ejector was? The smaller 100 record cabinet, or the larger (110?) record one? Does anyone know what sizes (record capacity) Pooley made for the ejector cabinets?

As soon as I get batteries for my cammera. I will post some pics. There are no markings or a label to indicate, who made this cabinet, but I suspect it may be from the Victor Talking Machine company. Becuse of the knobs on the doors, and the shape of the cabinet itself. The top shelf, holds, the 10 inch records, while the bottom holds the 12 inch ones. It can hold 76 records total.

Okay, I got a new battery for my digital cammera. Right now they are rechargeing, and as soon as they are done. I will take some pictures of the cabinet.

That looks like a very nice one indeed. I have a couple like that in oak and really wish they were mahogany.

Hi Bill----In all honesty, I don't remember how many records that Pooley cabinet held. I had this vague recollection it was 80, so it must have been whatever smaller one they made. Once I'd passed it up I just kinda sorta forgot the details. But I remember missing out-----like the Kovels say on their antiques programs "you can only regret the things that you do not buy".
