This is a great Orthophonic reproducer. As you can see, it is nickel plated and the plating is in shiny, excellent condition. The back has no splits and is nice and tight. I don't know. It was in a box of spare reproducers.

Sorry, I didn't think enough about your question. It is not from a portable. Those reproducers usually had the screen over them.

Isn't that a crack/split over the PHO in orthophonic on the back? Or is it just the photo?

There is a casting seam that starts near the "T". It looks like the seam collapses slightly between the "H" and "O". I can't really tell what has gone on there.

It looks like some pot metal swelling and a crack. It doesn't seem fatal at all to the reproducer, but it definitely seems to be there.
