Would thin rubber gaskets work better than felt gaskets in the orthophonic or no5 sound boxes? I would think so as it would be an air tight seal and in theory improve volume and bass response as felt gaskets will always leak slightly due to the fact it is felt.

Just wondered, any ideas?

Bass response should improve with the rubber gaskets. I think deft application of grease to both felts would seal the diaphragm just as well. -bill
