Latest Project

I found this a few weeks ago and got it for a great price. It needed a bit of work like lid support holes stripped out, a piece of trim on the lower door loose and a pretty bad spot on top of the lid. I went through the motor, the springs were good and did the typical clean, lube and tune. Rebuilt the reproducer and changed out the tone arm with one that I picked up at Union last year. The best part was the needle tins and the goodies that came with it. It's almost ready to move into the house (this weekend I think). I may have to find a set of albums for it sometime. Until then, I'm going to crank it up, and enjoy :D

Nice work Victor78,

The L-door is one of the classiest cabinets Victor made IMHO.

Be sure to post a picture of it in its new home.

Thank you for the compliments. I agree with Brad, this is one of nicest cabinets and there is just something about them that makes them stand out from the rest, other than the VV-XX.

I quite agree...I have always had a soft spot for the L door and this one looks great! Maybe I'm imagining it but I think they sound better than the reworked XVI with the louvres. The horn is I think more acoustically correct.
