I hope not off topic. Looking at purchasing a music box but it is missing the crank. Could someone help with a price and where to buy one? It plays 14" disks but I don't know if that helps.

Unfortunately, Symphonion cranks are extremely hard to come by. Depending on the model the cranks look similar to the "S" shaped cranks found on Zonophones. If the music box is in good shape and reasonably priced - taking into account the missing crank, they are nice machines. I ended up making my own crank from flat brass stock and brass pipe, but mine is a 15" Imperial Symphonion made in New Jersey... I could post a pic if you are interested... and it was not an extremely hard thing to make (if you have a drill press and can solder)...

Is the machine you are looking at German made or US made? How about posting a pic of the machine?
