Here's something unusual: http://www.ebay.com/itm/222407720988

I'm assuming this isn't an original plating, as I can't see why one would order a "lower-class" model and have it gold-plated?

I gotta have it . For the person who has every standard this is a biggy. I do not think it is stock. :pig: Tom B

Only 90 minutes away so I guess I'll be watching it.

I have no idea if the gold is correct or original, but it looks pretty good I think. I would consider this machine nice enough for my collection if I had room for yet another Standard. I hope someone on the forum does pick it up so we can learn more about it.

Beautiful! All it needs is a gold plated Model C reproducer and it would be perfect!

I have a nice Idelia Oxidized Model-C reproducer I could put in it.

To the best of my knowledge any Edison with an original factory special finish should have a second presentation ID tag. I don't see one with this machine so I suspect it was recently plated. I'm only suggesting caution. Jerry Blais

It would be a nice machine to have... IF it doesn't go for a high premium...

I suggested caution because a real factory gold plated Standard is worth a ton of money, perhaps between $5,000 and $10,000 (my guesstimate... what do others think????) while a recently plated Standard is worth whatever a curiosity is worth. Jerry B.
