Hi Everyone. I have an Edison model C reproducer. The sapphire stylus came off the stylus bar and is lost. Does anyone know a Canadian source for the sapphire stylus or a complete stylus bar with stylus? Additionally is it possible to take a stylus off an old stereao cartridge and somehow graft it onto the edison stylus bar? I have several old "turn over" stereo cartridges with good stylii. Any ideas on how to make my edison model c reproducer work again? Thanks, Glenn in Ontario Canada

First, not to be picky, but this doesn't belong in the tech support forum. It's not a description of a problem with the board. Better to put it in Machines, or perhaps even as a Wanted ad in Yankee Trader.

To answer your question, the Links section of the board has contact info for numerous parts suppliers, mostly in the USA, who can help you out. I'm sure our Canadian members will chime in with any Canadian info as needed, but any of the US suppliers will be happy to ship to Canada.

I do not recommend using the stylus from a stereo cartridge. A stereo stylus is a pointed diamond, whereas the Edison stylus is a rounded sapphire. The diamond point is likely to damage the wax records you would play with your Model C.
