Does anyone know what type of key ("Dolphin" or "E" type) originally came with the C-250 Edison Phonograph's? My understanding is that the shorter Dolphin version (about 2 ¼ inches long with double notches) and the E key should both work. But which one of the two was the original key that came with the C-250's? I would appreciate any information from the forum. Thanks!

Since the C-250 was produced for several years, I suspect that the key style may have changed during its run.

The early examples used the dolphin key; but I am not sure at what point they may have moved to the 'E' key.

Bill,

Thanks for your response. After doing a little research it appears that the E key was probably more prevalent with the C-19 models and was backward compatible with the C-250 models. I'm going to pursue getting a Dolphin key because it looks pretty cool and at least has an opening for attaching a key holder of some type for hanging it on the bottom door knob.
