Introduced in 1921, the VV-100 was a popular middle-priced machine that fit between the discontinued XI and XIV models. This was mainly a marketing effort to give the Victor lineup an updated image. The differences between the VV-100 and its predecessors were minimal. Very early versions used machine-carved corner trim (left), but this was soon replaced with some moderate hand carvings on the posts. The VV-100 was updated in Feb. 1923 (right), with a larger horn opening; lower profile lid, and a modern cabinet. In addition, the casters were replaced with metal "gliders" at that time, although the gliders tend to scratch the floor rather than glide across it. An air-damped lid closing mechanism was added in 1924. The 100 was available in oak, mahogany or walnut, although mahogany remained the most common choice.

That's something you don't see everyday. Its like for every so many mahogany examples, you see 1 oak example. I wonder what the ratio is for walnut?
