That got your attention, but "labels" means just that. What motivated someone to remove and mount them ? What became of the rare and valuable records to which they were attached?

It is of course possible that the labels are copies or scans, but if they are they look convincing.

I find it very hard to believe anyone would have actually removed the labels. These records sell for astronomical prices and who in their right mind would remove the labels?

I hope they are simply copies, but who knows. I am a Caruso enthusiast and will watch this one very closely with great interest.

I also found it hard to believe what I was seeing, especially as there all seven Caruso titles plus an oddment to make up the display.

Whoever did this must have known that the labels were of great interest, otherwise why did they bother to frame them?

You may well be right, as this was well below the auctioneer's estimate of £50/£70 and as you say there are usually knowledgeable people bidding at SAS auctions, both in person and via the Internet. Let's see whether the eBay seller makes a profit on £15 after paying buyer's premium and seller's fees.
