Another mystery reproducer I grabbed on EBay for only $10 because I thought it looked really cool

big and heavy, the largest reproducer I have ever seen,,, but what machine was this reproducer actually used on ??

I have one of those too, that I got from Charley Hummel for the same reason you bought yours... it looks cool. Unfortunately, Charley did not know what machine it was from although it may have just been an aftermarket reproducer. It fits on my Fairy Phonograph lamp and sounds good...

“Off Brand” Talking Machines by R.J. Wakeman lists Crippen as a phonograph manufacturer in 1920...

He (Crippen) sure had a heck of a sales pitch! I dont think it worked out very well for him though. I bet that reproducer does sound good though.

I've seen enough of them that I think it was also offered as an aftermarket piece- but yours seems to have come off of a universal style tone arm

I hooked it up to one of my Silvertones last night - it's pretty loud and quite clear sounding. Louder than I thought it would be.
