Recently, I acquired a nice Columbia AT cylinder phono and am trying to get it up and running. I haven't done much work on this model and am not sure what parts are missing, especially as concerns the reproducer carriage. I have the reproducer and am pretty sure I can rebuild it but I don't know what attaches it to the carriage. Can anybody show me a picture of a complete carriage assembly? Then I will know what is missing. Thanks! Cliff

Judging from the reproducer (if it's original to the machine), this is probably a first style, "low trunnion" AT (approx. 1898 - 1903).

Some more photos would help in identifying it further:

. Does it have the corner pillars?

. What decals are on the case? What address(es) are listed? Is there a "Prize" decal, and what does it say?

I happen to have a "first style" AT, and can take some photos of the carriage, if necessary.

Here are a couple more pics showing some of the rest of this phono, I think it is the early style. I'll get some more pics tomorrow when I go to the shop, including the ID plate.

Apparently, I need the piece that the reproducer attaches to. Anybody got a spare? I think I have all the other parts.

Just got the upper works working today. Pretty happy about that!

Wow Cliff, I can't believe you got this far already. I saw this machine last week and it was a frozen and very dirty mess. I can't wait to see a video of it playing a record!

The curious thing about the second photo is that the corner columns (which were a feature on the first two styles of the AT) are missing here. My AT's serial number is about 1000 earlier (214331).... is there any indication whether the columns were removed?

It looks like there were corner columns at one time. The case has been refinished.
