Can someone advise me about this gramophone regarding (a) identification of model, year (b) suitability for restoration and (c) if possible, price I can offer.

(a) HMV Model 25, late 1924 to early 1927. The No.4 soundbox pictured suggests a late example, earlier examples had the Exhibition.

(b) Quite a scarce machine and well worth the effort of restoration. The horn was usually black.

(c) Good original examples have made £700/£900, but this example looks rough and will need a lot of work. Does it run? Overhauling the No.34 quadruple spring motor is no fun and will be expensive if new springs are required.

This thread should be moved to "British and European Machines" where you will find other threads discussing the machine.
