Can Someone Enlighten Me on The Pictured Item?

I found this small container (tube) yesterday in a back road antique shop in Northeast PA.
At $3, I figured I couldn't go too wrong.
It says,"Como Swings on RCA Victor."
I'm guessing it's from the late '40's or '50's.
Can someone identify its use?
Looks like about the size of an adapter to play 45s on an older three speed electric phonograph.

I don't really know for sure, but Perry Como did have an album named Como Swings in the late 50s. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Como_Swings

Perhaps it was some type of advertising for that album. Strange item though and I have no idea what one would do with it.

Considering the golf theme of the album cover, I'm wondering if that's a golf ball tube, like this one -- http://www.ebay.ca/itm/RARE-VINTAGE-DUN ... SwNuxXYI17 They still use them, but now they're mostly clear plastic.

Perhaps they were giving away free golf balls with every record purchase, or it was a prop for a display?

Just a guess...

Good call!
I didn't associate "Swing" with golf, until I saw the album cover.

It's sort of a double entendre type thing with the word "swing".
When posting a picture of an unknown item, please post something that we can reference its size from, i.e. a Coke can or a or a quarter or a ruler. I thought it was a key fob at first.

Appears to be styled like a golf cub bag- I bet it had club shaped pencils.
