I was digging through some records and rediscovered a couple Delia Murphy records on the HMV label pressed in Eire. I believe IM576 was her first recording and an original Eire pressing, too!

I posted videos of these songs to YouTube and was almost kicked off YouTube by the copyright police. Too bad, they're good tunes.

Yes IM576 was her first recording, not "Spinning Wheel" as is often claimed.

Delia Murphy had a privileged upbringing. Her father Jack had emigrated to Canada and had struck it rich in the Klondyke gold rush. The local boy made good, he returned to Ireland and bought a country estate near his birthplace. Delia was university educated and married a diplomat who became the Irish Ambassador to London.
