Expert Junior

Not sure what to make of this listing. The 301 would surely be too high for the tonearm?.

Interestingly, it does actually work, thanks to the five inch depth between the top of the deck-board and the underside of the lid. I have just tried it on my Junior which is identical. It is necessary, of course, to be able to twist the soundbox anti-clockwise on the tonearm to counteract the new disc height and maintain good tracking. Only EMG/Expert/Astra/Meltrope soundboxes can do this easily by design. Not sure how the Limit box is attached !

Douglas Fitzpatrick used a Garrard 301 in his enormous machine (Expert Senior cabinet) although in more recent years it has been returned to a Garrard No. 10 spring motor, if memory serves.
