SOLD: Early Victor V {V 5} Phonograph $1200 SHIPPED
Posted: Tue Mar 21, 2017 4:01 pm
Working early model Victor V with hard to find ID Plate "V 5" serial #13828.
There is no horn and no elbow. Cabinet looks like it may have been refinished a very long time ago and the turntable felt looks like it was replaced. All else on this phonograph is completely original. Couple of tiny dents in the tonearm on top where the reproducer rests so not really much of a detraction.
The back mount has outstanding original stenciling.
This has the heavy duty original 3-spring Victor motor and desirable yielding turntable with threaded spindle found on Victor VI and VTLA models.
This Victor V has the correct round hole Victor Exhibition equipped on the external horn Victors.
I paid $1600 for this exactly as you see it without a horn and elbow in California about 20 years ago so I'm taking a bit of a bath on it at $1200 but I simply have an excess of machines and the wife is urging me to trim the collection a little.
Send me a PM with interest. I will pay actual US Postal shipping to the lower 48 states. Pick up is available as well in New York. Payment will be accepted by PayPal friends option, US Postal Money Order(s) or cash at time of pick up. If shipping is required, I will package VERY securely.
Thanks.
Doug
